Thiyan Investment Ltd has been given planning permission for schemes at Castle Place and the former Tesco site at St Stephen’s Place.

It is hoped that work on St Stephen’s Place will start soon, with phase one containing:

• 80,000 sq ft (7,432 sq m) of retail
• a piazza
• 180 parking spaces
• Restaurant/café units ranging from 2,500 sq ft to 17,500 sq ft (232 sq m to 1,625 sq m).

The second phase of the St Stephen’s Place development will involve improvements to Castle Place shopping centre and multi-storey car park.

Latest news

A major programme of repairs and refurbishments to the multi-storey car park will be started by the District Council early in the New Year.

This will include improved lighting, providing CCTV and removing graffiti, with the aim of making the car park a safer and more attractive environment for shoppers. Click here for more details.

The Council is also committed to progressing the development of St Stephen's Place and is looking at ways to move this site forward and obtain the right development for Trowbridge.
