The Ushers Apartments are a stylish refurbishment and new-build mix on the site of the historic brewery buildings. This was for many years the home of Thomas Usher’s brewery; the site itself dating from the 1820’s. Ushers became one of the largest West Country brewers with, at one time, large sites all over the town. Today’s exciting transformation from once redundant buildings, results in a stunning development of character and elegance, restoring its status in an important part of the town’s centre. Cues from its industrial past are visible throughout; only a modern day feat of engineering vision allowed the retention of key original features, from an entire retained façade, to the signature round ‘barrel store’ window. This ambitious project, now complete, is offered for sale in the form of exclusive apartments. History once again, very much in the making.
